Every year on February 19th, India comes alive with the vibrant celebrations of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. This day marks the birth anniversary of the revered Maratha warrior-king, Shivaji Maharaj, who is etched in history for his courage, strategic brilliance, and unwavering dedication to Swaraj – self-rule. To commemorate the spirit of bravery and justice of the great leader on his 394th birth anniversary, the students of Grades VI, VII, and VIII embarked on the journey to acclaim the triumph, valour, and righteousness of this national hero on Tuesday 20th February 2024. Students explored the glorious era of Shivaji Maharaj through a short video screening. The video encapsulated Shivaji Maharaj's reign, spanning from 1674 to 1680, which saw the rise of the Maratha Empire, challenging the dominant Mughal rule. It enabled students to proclaim him as a visionary leader who pioneered guerilla warfare tactics, built a formidable navy, and established a well-organized administrative system. The students embraced the feelings of patriotism and a sense of pride within them as they delved into the life history of this legend. The session witnessed enormous zeal and exuberance among the young learners. May the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj continue to guide us.
