Grade V Math Lab Activity
Grade V students engaged in a group activity, which was designed for recapitulation and strengthening the concept of place values of large numbers. According to the teachers’ guidance, students created number cards from zero to nine and place value cards a day prior to the activity. Further, a group activity was conducted, where students brainstormed by creating large numbers and reading them as per the Hindu Arabic System. Not only this, students created the largest possible number, smallest possible number, largest possible even and odd number, smallest possible even and odd numbers etc and explored various permutations and combinations of creating numbers based on certain criteria and challenges given by the teacher and reading them correctly. Students thoroughly enjoyed this activity and achieved concept clarity through this form of collaborative learning experience.
