Grade V -Young Scientist Club- Herbarium A herbarium is a collection of preserved plant specimens and associated data for scientific study. (Scientific name of plant, habitat of plant, uses). It also provides information about the distribution and occurrence of certain plant species. Grade V students collected different flowers, leaves, and parts of flowers that were available in the garden without damaging plants. They were instructed to collect various flowers without damaging plants so that they would feel grateful towards nature. They used white paper, collected material and glue to present this information through the herbarium. It facilitates the identification of plants and also aids in taxonomic research. It is essential for the study of plants. It helped to develop skills like observation, and recording changes in vegetation over time. The dried and mounted plant samples are generally referred to as herbarium specimens which act as a quick referral system. ""
