Amanora School Shines at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) India 2026
Innovation, creativity, and perseverance came together as Amanora School proudly participated in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) India 2026, one of the world's most prestigious robotics competitions. The 2026 theme encouraged young innovators to look beyond technology and explore how robotics can preserve, express, and share the rich heritage, arts, and stories that define cultures across the globe.
This year, nearly 1,700 teams from across India competed across various categories, making the competition highly challenging. In the Future Innovators category, only one team per school was permitted to register. Amanora School's team earned the honour of representing the school after successfully clearing the initial screening process.
Our talented team Arnish Salve (Grade 6), Adwik Dubey (Grade 6), and Atharv Nair (Grade 7) designed and presented an innovative project titled "WARKARI." Inspired by India's rich cultural heritage, WARKARI is an intelligent robotic voice assistant that serves as an interactive guide to cultural knowledge. The robot is equipped with a microphone, speaker, controller, and mobility features that allow it to move forward, backward, and change directions while responding to user queries. Depending on the platform used, it can provide preloaded information through an ESP32 or Arduino-based system or utilize advanced voice recognition and AI chatbot capabilities using a Raspberry Pi.
The team's dedication and innovation paid off when their project was selected among the top 38 projects from approximately 1,700 entries, securing a place in the Virtual Round held on 2nd July 2026. Their outstanding performance earned them an invitation to the Mumbai Regional Championship, where they confidently represented Amanora School on a larger platform.
This achievement was made possible through the wholehearted encouragement and unwavering support of our Director-Principal, Ms. Meera Nair, and our Headmistress (Secondary Section), Ms. Amrita Gangwal, whose constant guidance and belief in our students continue to inspire them to dream big and innovate fearlessly.
Although the team narrowly missed qualifying for the National Round, their journey was nothing short of remarkable. They demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills, teamwork, technical expertise, and confidence while interacting with judges and fellow innovators. More importantly, they gained invaluable exposure to cutting-edge ideas, constructive feedback from experts, and the opportunity to learn alongside some of the brightest young minds in the country.
At Amanora School, we believe that competitions like the World Robot Olympiad are about much more than medals and rankings. They inspire students to think critically, innovate fearlessly, and transform ideas into meaningful solutions. Winning is certainly a wonderful achievement, but the true reward lies in the learning, growth, and resilience developed throughout the journey. As the saying goes, winning is the cherry on the cake—the real success is the experience gained along the way.
